Led by Sophia Cook
The UNJUST Public Perception Project focuses on the general public's perception of wrongful convictions. The study aims to investigate general opinions on the processes that cause wrongful convictions, the role that law enforcement plays in these convictions, and the treatment of exonerees before, during, and after conviction. Sophia also aims to evaluate the general knowledge regarding wrongful convictions. She is interested in the public's awareness of the frequency of these convictions, their perception of challenges exonerees may face, and their desire to change the criminal justice system.
