Post Hospitalization School Re-entry Study

Being a parent can be scary. Being a parent when your child is ill or injured enough to require a stay in the hospital can be a parent's worst fear. We in the MAPP lab recognize how difficult this can be for children and their families, and how difficult the transition back out of the hospital can be. We are interested in how research can help children successfully re-integrate into the school system following a hospitalization. Specially, we are interested in how a child's personality can help or hinder them when it comes time to go back to school. Furthermore, we want to understand how events like this impact the family. Knowing this can help us better understand how we can assist a smooth, successful transition back to school after setbacks such as a hospitalization.
