LAbDirector
Kathleen Reardon joined the Department of Psychology at Cleveland State University as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2021. She is a core faculty member in the Clinical Psychology specialization of the Master of Arts degree, and an affiliate member of the Psychological Science specialization.
Previously, Dr. Reardon spent two years as the Madigan Family Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Family Institute at Northwestern University, working on research with Dr. Erika Lawrence and providing clinical services for children, adolescents, and adults.
She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral clinical internship at the Stony Brook University Consortium Internship Program during the 2018-2019 year. Dr. Reardon graduated from the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Northwestern University in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Tackett. Before that, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh.

When she's not working, Dr. Reardon loves to spend time cooking and figuring out how to keep things alive in her community garden plot. She also loves spending time with her family and her dog, Tilly.

Ashleen Pinto is a second-year student in the clinical psychology master’s program. She completed her BSc Honours in Psychology with Counselling Skills at Middlesex University Dubai. Ashleen is primarily interested in the aetiology of personality disorders and the impact of personality disorder traits on interpersonal relationships. She is also interested in different forms of abuse in parent-child relationships and romantic relationships. In her spare time, she enjoys reading psychological-thriller books, watching movies and going on long walks.
Ashleen Pinto
Elexis is a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at CSU. She attended Wittenberg University during her time as an undergraduate, majoring in Psychology and Spanish. She is particularly interested in investigating individuals’ level of confidence in certain domains of belief; as well as, how these domains impact a person psychologically. Her long-term goal is to obtain her PhD and become a play therapist. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and watching bad reality tv.
Elexis Spence
Angel is a first-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at Cleveland State University. During her undergrad, she earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at CSU and became a member of the MAPP in Fall 2022. Angel is interested in parent-child relationships and their effects on adulthood, personality, and maladaptive behavior. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to concerts and art museums, and listening to music.

Nishka is a first year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science with honors in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her interests lie at the intersection of Multicultural Psychology and Clinical Psychology. She wants to explore the way specific disorders may show up differently within specific ethnic groups. Her goal is to obtain her PhD and become a licensed psychologist, with a focus on culturally responsive therapy. Nishka enjoys watercolor painting and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
Nishka Gupta
Tierra is a first-year graduate student in the Psychological Sciences program. She earned her B.S. in Forensic Psychology with a minor in criminology from Arizona State University. Broadly speaking, her research interests are in adverse childhood experiences and their impact on psychological development into adulthood, especially concerning psychopathology, criminality, deviancy, and maladaptive behaviors. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing, birding, and hiking in the wonderful Metroparks that Cleveland has to offer!

Breanna Meadows is a student in the clinical psychology master’s program and is also a member of the HEART Lab. She completed her BA in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her research interests are disorders that co-occur with problematic substance use and substance use disorders. She is also interested in how social support affects a variety of mental health outcomes. Following this program, she intends to obtain her PhD and become a licensed psychologist. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her cat, reading, and listening to podcasts.
Breanna Meadows
Emily is a first-year Cleveland State University graduate student pursuing her master’s in Clinical Psychology. She completed her undergraduate education at Baldwin Wallace University, earning a B.S. in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Hoping to obtain her PsyD and ultimately become a licensed forensic psychologist, Emily’s interests generally fall at the intersection of clinical psychology and criminology. She is particularly interested in malingering and psychological risk factors of recidivism. Outside of the lab, she enjoys snowboarding, playing volleyball, and staying in with her cat, Edison.

Morgan is a first-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at Cleveland State University. She earned her B.A. in psychology with a minor in leadership studies from Doane University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of clinical psychology and criminology. Specifically, she wants to explore risk factors of incarceration. Her goal is to obtain a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and become a forensic psychologist. Outside of the lab, Morgan enjoys baking, knitting, and going on long walks.
Morgan Queen
Jin is a first-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at CSU. He attended (The) Ohio State University for his undergrad, graduating with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. His research interests are primarily focused on risk and protective factors associated the development of psychopathology. This includes exploring environmental factors and/or personality traits associated with resilience. Upon graduation, Jin intends to obtain his PhD degree in Clinical Psychology and become a professor. In his free time, Jin enjoys boxing, writing short stories, and taking his cat & dog out on a walk.

Abby Hendricks Morse
Sara graduated from Cleveland State with her M.A. in Spring 2023. Sara has joined the Cognition and Intellectual Disabilities Lab at the University of Alabama for the next few years. She will be working as a research assistant on a 5-year NICHD-funded study investigating longitudinal cognitive changes in teens and young adults with Down syndrome before continuing her education toward a PhD.
